Paul Rainbird

Paul is with AC archaeology (based in Bradninch, near Exeter) where he has special responsibility for reports and publications, with, in addition, varied roles in fieldwork, post-excavation and preparation of Heritage Environment Assessments and management plans. Nearing completion is the publication of a monograph for South West Water and Devon County Council on the results of archaeological, palaeo-environmental and historical research conducted ahead of the drowning of the Wolf Valley for the Roadford Reservoir in west Devon. Between 2008-2013 he was a self-employed archaeological consultant and occasional lecturer in archaeological studies at Bristol University. Prior to this (1998-2008) he was Reader and head of archaeology and anthropology at the University of Wales, Lampeter. From 1995-1997 he was a lecturer in cultural heritage studies at Charles Sturt University, Australia. Paul has published widely in professional journals and has two single-authored books with Cambridge University Press.
